Description

Dream Catcher is the second in the Pleiades Series — the only limited edition wakizashi series in samurai history. Forged by Matsuba Kunimasa, ranked among the top five living swordsmiths in Japan, this blade is a certified masterpiece. Originally sold to a first-time collector and now reacquired, it remains in pristine condition. The Pleiades, or Seven Sisters, constellation holds deep spiritual meaning across global cultures and is revered in Japan. Each sword in the series reflects one star’s character — Dream Catcher is themed around Japanese New Year traditions and carries the symbolism of fulfilled wishes and fortune. The fittings are all antiques and extremely rare: a complete matching set depicting two of the Seven Gods of Fortune — Daikoku and Ebisu — sailing on the treasure boat. The kozuka and kogai are gold-backed and decorated in black shakudo. One piece is signed by the original artisan, a rarity. The blade features Matsuba’s signature midare hamon, often described as waves or fire tongues, and is extraordinarily sharp and active. The style is aikuchi, meaning it has no guard. A complete art sword package, it includes a collector’s book detailing every element and provenance. A limited-edition Pleiades silver coin from the Royal Mint of Australia also accompanies this sword.

The Story

Reacquired from its original collector, Dream Catcher is both a dream fulfilled and a blessing carried forward — forged for beauty, precision, and deep spiritual resonance.
