Mihara Lion, circa 1325 Certification Papers: NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozen (Rated: Extremely Worthy of Preservation). Ko-Mihara School was founded in the 14th century. The smiths were noted masters of the Yamato tradition and their swords are recognized among the finest of all samurai artisans. In addition, the Kamakura era is considered the Golden Age of samurai swords. A 700 year old masterpiece with outstanding fittings. Excellent condition. Amazing. Notice the hand-crafted art of the saya. The centuries-old maki-e work is incredible. Fittings represent sacred Buddhist symbols. This is a sword of great spiritual power.
